Earlier this month we were invited to Thorpe House School to run an enterprise day with their Y11 students.
The Head of Sixth Form shared their thoughts :
“On Friday 17th November, we were delighted to have Amy Atkinson an expert in entrepreneurship, social media and marketing, deliver some really insightful Careers Education to our Year 11 students.”
“They studied the key elements of marketing, how to promote one’s products and / or services, and the best ways to spot niches in markets to create that idea that will lead to a successful business. At the end of the day, students presented to each other in a “Dragon’s Den” style pitch to explain their product, target audience, and how it would be marketed. Amy was full of praise for our boys, remarking particularly that she was impressed with how they kept so fresh and motivated with their ideas all the way through to the end of the day, with a couple of boys asking for more time to present even after 4.15!”
“Amy was outstanding as a speaker, keeping students engaged, and able to bring any who were off task back to task quickly and independently. She listened to our brief as well, with a Sixth Form focus, which was great. She was excellent.”
